Who She Is:

When she began campaigning publicly for justice — for mothers, fathers, and children harmed by a system that too often fails them — she was known as Sian Gissing-McMeel. That was her married name, and it is the name her two sons carry. Her daughter carries her maiden name; she is not a child of that marriage. She has her own father — despite the false narrative created in the family courts, advanced without evidence in order to protect institutional interests.

Sian continues to use the McMeel name in public forums for one simple reason: so that when her children are ready, they can find her easily and know where to reach her.

Her legal name is Sian Gissing, and that is who she is at her core. Over the years, she has been called many names — some with admiration, others with ridicule — but the truth is, she is simply Sian.

Judgment and UK State Retaliation:

Sian’s fight for justice has not stopped at defending herself — she has also sought accountability from those within the system. After pursuing a claim against HHJ Watkins for fraud, she was awarded a judgment of over £12,500, along with a warrant of control certificate issued against his home address in Bristol.

It was a rare example of the system momentarily allowing the rule of law to work in her favour under the Rule of Law. 

However, instead of that judgment being honoured, Sian has evidence submitted by the Government Legal Department on behalf of their client 'HHJ Watkins' that the Bristol Family Court clerk tipped off HHJ Watkins.

The response was swift and punitive: she was placed under an Extended Civil Restraint Order (ECRO) — a measure typically used to restrict “vexatious litigants,” but in this case deployed to suppress her lawful attempt to expose judicial misconduct.

This was later confirmed by Aisher Pasher, a solicitor within the Government Legal Department, who acted on behalf of HHJ Watkins. In doing so, taxpayers’ money was used to defend the judge’s actions and to shield evidence from public view — ensuring that the trail of misconduct remained hidden from accountability and exposure. Serious judicial misconduct.  

This episode is a stark example of the system’s double standards: when citizens seek accountability, retaliation often follows. Yet even this did not silence her resolve.

Along the way, she has faced public judgments, MCMEEL V GISSING-MCMEEL [2022] EWHC 1448 (Fam),  in both the literal and figurative sense. Some of these rulings have been written in ways that read more like character attacks than legal reasoning. She knows that people may search her name, stumble across those documents, or arrive at her work out of curiosity. That is why this space exists: to provide context, truth, and evidence.

Sian makes this declaration without hesitation: she is a woman, and a mother, who cannot be erased. She can be legally gagged through the family courts — with more than 40 court orders preventing her from naming certain people — but she remains. She is a woman of God. A Christian woman. A Proverbs 31 woman. She walks in the truth, and the truth fears no inspection.

She was even dragged through a public civil contempt case for publishing the truth. They tried to put her in prison for speaking out. She owns that part of her story fully — because it shows exactly how far powerful institutions will go to silence inconvenient voices. Yet she is still here.

Sian does not claim perfection. She is real, authentic, and legally-minded.

She has been targeted with DARVO (Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender) strategies and SLAPP (Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation) tactics. Instead of silencing her, these experiences have only deepened her resolve.

Sian Gissing-McMeel embodies the epitome of resilience, versatility, and unwavering determination. With a diverse background spanning from the glitz of fashion to the corridors of legal justice, Sian's journey is a testament to her indomitable spirit and passion for making a difference to vulnerable, often unseen, unheard victims of miscarriage of justice. 

Beginning her career as a sought-after FHM model, in 2002. In 2003 Sian was national cover girl for 'Pole Position Magazine, selling over 40,000 copies. Sian went on to captivating audiences as a Miss England Finalist in 2008 for her hometown Grimsby, Lincolnshire, England. 

Taking her crown to empowering, coaching and mentoring 13 young ladies in Miss Grimsby 2013, for the prestigious Miss World brand.

In September 2013, Sian embarked on a remarkable journey of resilience and determination as she welcomed her beautiful daughter into the world as a single mother. This pivotal moment ignited a fierce determination within Sian to create a better life not only for her daughter but also for herself. Driven by an unwavering desire to provide a brighter future, Sian made the courageous decision to return to school, determined to defy the odds and pursue her dreams. With an unyielding spirit and an innate sense of purpose, she set her sights on studying law, recognising it as a powerful tool for effecting positive change and securing a brighter future for herself and her daughter. Sian's journey exemplifies the transformative power of love, determination, and the unwavering pursuit of one's dreams, inspiring others to overcome obstacles and forge their own path to success. Sian graduated Trafford College in Manchester with distinction. Sian knows the power women and single mothers have within, advocating the importance of educated women, despite their current situations, trials or tribulations, it is possible to expand our education to climb the ladder of success, beating all odds of hardship, social position or background.

Recognising the importance of honing her skills, Sian attended a one-day professional skills course for aspiring barristers at BPP University School of Law, further solidifying her commitment to mastering the craft of advocacy.

In 2017, drawing upon her legal expertise as a law student at Manchester University School of Law and her experience as a fashion brand owner, Sian Gissing-McMeel orchestrated a transformative public speaking event in Sale, Manchester, in collaboration with Women's Aid. Recognising the intersectionality of law, empowerment, and personal agency, Sian curated an event aimed at empowering women to reclaim their power and seize control of their lives. Through a blend of legal insights, personal anecdotes, and practical advice, she offered attendees invaluable tools to navigate legal complexities, assert their rights, and break free from cycles of abuse. Sian's event not only provided crucial legal education but also fostered a sense of community and solidarity among participants, inspiring them to embark on their journey towards autonomy and self-empowerment. By leveraging her multifaceted background and passion for justice, Sian catalyzed positive change and emboldened women to step into their own strength and resilience.Transitioning seamlessly into the realm of public service, Sian became a dedicated local parish councillor, where she tirelessly advocated for the needs of her constituents. Simultaneously, she pursued her legal education at Manchester University, where her academic prowess was matched only by her commitment to empowering her peers. Voted as a student representative and serving as a student peer mentor, Sian's leadership qualities shone brightly as she guided and supported her fellow students through their academic journeys.
